Ok so the film I went to see this time was the brand new Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, and I don't think I have been to a cinema so full apart from when I went to see the midnight launch for a film. So The new Paranormal Activity was Directed by Gregory Plotkin who you may know fromm his work in The Insider and Fracture. Paranormal Activity was written by a large group of people, Jason Pagan, Andrew Deutschman, Adam Robitel and Gavin Heffernan.
Ok so lets have a quick re-cap of the film, and I did try my best to keep spoilers out so if there is any i do apologies. One day while Ryans brother Mike is staying over for the holidays, they are outside of the house putting up decorations when Ryan goes into a box to get move lights to hand from the pillars of the house when he this old camera that had been custom made by someone who used to live in this house. When Ryan uses the camera he notices that is picking up these strange shadows on the camera that no other cameras in the house picks up.
Ok so lets talk about the cast and we shall start with daddy dearest Ryan who is played by Chris J Murray who you may know if you have played the Grand Theft Auto IV game as he is one of the
voice actors in the game. So Ryan has let his brother stay with him as hes going through a bad brake up and its the holiday season after all which is all about family, as they are decorating the outside of the house he goes into the last box of what he thinks is Christmas lights and find all theses old tapes and this old video camera,hes using it around the house and it picks up these odd strange shadows, so he decides to do some research in his man cave and finds out that this camera has been custom made to pick up spirits, as spirit filming was a big thing in the 80s and so on which leads him to do some looking up on what happened in the house that he lives in with his wife and his daughter as he wants to make sure that they are safe.
Ok so lets talk about the mother and wife Emily who is played by Brit Shaw who you may know
from Clemency. Ok so Emily is a typical mum who loves her daughter and her husband and would do anything to make sure that they are safe no matter what cost. When everything starts happening she makes sure that her daughter is safe she makes sure that she is never a lone she makes sure that she contacts everyone who she thinks that could help she even goes to the lengths of sleeping on the floor of her daughter bed room to make sure that nothing comes into the bed room and nothing can get to her baby girl.
Ok lats but no means lest the baby girl that they are all trying to protect Leila who is played by little
miss Ivy George who you may know from a film she was previously in Curse Of The Slender Man. Leila is just a typical little girl who is excited to see her uncle at Christmas and that it was almost Christmas. She plays with her dolls and talks to her imaginary friends and bugs her parents, when one night she starts to sleep walk, her mother and father went out for the night and her uncle and one o her mothers friends is looking after her when they find her still asleep in this some kind of trance in the back garden covered in mud, but this is the first night of many where she sneaks out of her room at night in this trance to do stuff around the house that she has no memory of in the morning.
Ok so for a paranormal activity film this wasn't too bad, i went to see if with a friend for her birthday in the cinema, which in my opinion was the best way to watch it as it gave it a such better atmosphere as there were people screaming in the theater and that was the only thing that i really found scary in my opinion, but that could be cause i am now being more desensitizes to scary films as i watch them all the time, but this is a good film so for this film ill give it 7.5/10.
