so the film i watched this time is a musical which is odd for me cause i'm not really into musicals but i thought i would give this one a go as i had been told really good things about this in the past and if the title hasn't given it away yet, this time i watched 2002 Chicago which was written but Bill Condon who you may know from his work on Dreamgirls, Kinsey and Gods And Monsters. Chicago was also directed by Rob Marshall who you may known from his most recent project Into The Woods of you may know him from Pirates Of The Caribbean Stranger Tides and Memoirs Of Geisha.

So lets have a quick re-cap of the plot a murderesses Velma Kelly a chanteuse and tease who had killed her husband and sister after finding them in bed together and Roxie Hart who killed her boyfriend when she discovered he wasn't going to make her a star and was only using her for sex, they both find themselves on death row together and fight for the fame that will be keeping them from the gallows in 1920s Chicago.

so lets talk about the cast we only have a few people to talk about this film so lets

start with miss Velma Kelly who is played by miss Catherine Zeta-Jones who you may know from her work in The Terminal, Oceans Twelve and Entrapment.

Velma Kelly is a rising star in Chicago her and her sister have a double act well they do until she finds her sister and her husband in well lets just say a compromising position in a hotel room, so she kills them and runs off to do their double act show on her own until the cops come in and bust her for killing her sister her husband and fleeing the scene of the crime.

Ok so lets talk about our next little vixen miss Roxie Hart who is played by miss Renee Zellweger who you may know from Bridget Jones Diary, Cinderella Man and Jerry

Maguire. Ok so miss Roxie Hart is just a housewife with big dreams of becoming famous and ends up cheating on her husband with the man who sold them the furniture for their apartment, after they have a “night of passion” she keeps ask him if he will be telling his friend at the club about her, about the way she can sing and dance and the fact that she used to be in a chorus line. When they get into a argument and he hits her and tells her that he doesn't really know anyone at the club and that he was only there so that he could pick up money that was owed to him from one of the members of the band. Well that's just the last straw for Roxie she flips and grabs the gun in the top draw and shoots him twice and kills him.

Ok last but no means least we have the man who is trying to prove that these two and

innocent is mister Billy Flynn who is played by Richard Gere who you may know from Pretty Woman, An Officer And A Gentleman and Primal Fear. Mister Billy Flynn is a hotshot lawyer who has an extremely high success rate he knows how to play the press, judge and the jury just like a good lawyers do he has them eating out of the palm of his hand from the get go thats how he makes sure that he wins all of his cases 100% success rate.

ok so this is a really good film it has everything that most people would be interested in, it has sexy ladies, violence and even some catchy tunes but it is most definitely a chick flick. its the tyoe if fukn that you get all of your girlfriends over and have a couple of glasses of wine and a take away you sit and watch and maybe even moan about your partners to make yourself feel better. but it is a grate film nonetheless i'm gonna give it 8/10 and i will be recommending it to some of my friends.
