Vacancy

The film I watched today is Vacancy witch was relised in 2007 and was directed by Nimrod Antal who you may know him as the man who also directed films lik Predators, Amoured and Kontroll. The writer of this film is mister Mark L. Smith you also may know him as the writer of The Hole and Vacancy 2.

Lets have a quick re-cap of the story lines, so we have a young married couple who becomes stranded at an isolated motel after their car goes down in the middle of no were. While in their in there room they find hidden video cameras in their room.They then realize that unless they find away to escape, they will be the next victims of a snuff film.

Ok so this film is very quite simple but amazing cast, we have the very lovely and talented and extremely beautiful Kate Beckinsale who you may know her from films such as Pearl Harbor, The Avictor and The underworld films. In this film she plays Amy fox a wife going through a extremely rough time as her child has died and she is going through a divorce but has not told her family, so she is forced to go to her own mothers birthday party with a man who she despises. But she will have to learn how to trust her husband with her life again.

ok so now we introduce her better half her husband David Fox played by mister Luke Wilson who has been in films like Old School, Indiocracy and Legally Blonde. so while they are driving back from his mother-in-laws birthday party they brake down in the middle of no where but lucky for them (well not really) they find this little motel that is vacant a part from the owner mason, so they get a room and wait till morning to get someone to come down and get them to fix the car.

Ok so the only other person that is in the motel is the owner Mason played by Frank Whaley who has been in films such as Pulp Fiction, The Door and Field Of Dreams. So Mason is the owner of the motel and he is running it for his parents who live in Florida  so he is running it on there behalf. well lets just say that he was there with open arms to help them for the night and gives them a room for the night at a reasonable rate, but this is when everything seems to  go wrong.

While they are in the room David looks to see what is on tv after finding nothing at all on the tv a part from static he finds some video tapes and puts one of the tapes on and it turns out to be a snuff films and they notice that it was filmed in the very room that they are in. 

 Ok so my thoughts about this film in the beginning I honestly didn't like Kate Beckinsales character Amy Fox she seemed to be very aggressive and nasty woman who blames everyone else for her own problems in life. But that all seems to change when her life gets threaten  and her husband would do anything to get them both safe. it was also kind of strange seeing her in such a  weak state as she is used to playing such strong characters in films.

I honestly loved this film and if you are in the mood for a good thriller/ horror film with a very interesting story line then i would very much suggest this film for you. I'd five this film a 7.5/10
